Our board is committed to advancing social justice, and we recognize the importance of not placing the burden of this work on people of color and historically marginalized people. We actively collaborate with advisors from diverse backgrounds to ensure our mission authentically and inclusively amplifies the voices and lived experiences of these communities. We are eager to welcome more people of color to our board and value their perspectives and contributions. At the same time, we are mindful of not imposing the responsibility for our diversity and inclusion efforts solely upon them.
Becky’s vision for the CCC grew out of concern for the lack of support and opportunities available for having open and honest discussions about racial justice and cross-cultural learning in her community. She is passionate about advancing social equity and fostering meaningful relationships across diverse groups. The mother of a biological daughter and adopted African American son, Becky is dedicated to continued learning so she can help to create a more compassionate world for her children.
